Tune out the Noise

Investors should filter out market noise and focus on long-term returns. The media’s constant stream of news can lead to hasty investment decisions. Diversification, skepticism towards forecasts, focusing on personal goals, accepting market prices, and avoiding excessive exposure to negative news are key strategies for successful investing.

Today, we are joined by Jim Parker from Dimensional Fund Advisers.

As head of communications and the marketing team in Australia, Jim Parker creates strategies to communicate the Dimensional philosophy and process in ways that engage clients, prospects, regulators and the media.

Jim joined Dimensional in 2006 after 25 years working as a journalist in newspapers, television, radio and online media. His specialty was financial journalism, particularly in relation to economics and financial markets.
